After a 7h flight, we finally crossed the Atlantic and landed in Montreal! It feels great to be finally there.
Heading to McGill campus for the first visit, with the Anatomy department museum. A giant tree trunk (200+ y.o!) was stored in one of the buildings!
On the next day, the Mont-Royal welcomed us.
As the day declines, the downtown lights start to shine.
Island Jean Drapeau, with its casino and marmots.
Toronto
Quick trip in Toronto
First time in Toronto, by a sunny day! The lakeshore was pretty, but that was about it...
On the way back we stopped in the Thousand islands park, which was gorgeous with many gooses!
Parc des Iles de Boucherville
This park has a very active wilderness while being pretty close to Montreal.
Magog
Going south of Montreal to escape the city craziness for a week-end. The program: kayaking and hiking.
Finally, back in Montreal.
The Saint Laurent rapids was also great to visit!
Montreal has changed a lot since my stay in 2016, and unfortunately not in a good way. Much more poverty, drugs in the streets and the parks so that it feels quite unsafe in the evenings. Good vibes areas are now dead and without soul. I was not in love with Montreal back then, and I was hoping to be this time - it's not the case. This was a good trip nonetheless with the discovery of the amazing Magog's area and many interesting and friendly people along the way!
