2025 is a year of peak solar activity, and so it's really a good time to be in polar regions! This is a collection of Northern Lights observed in Scandinavia (mostly Norway) in Winter 2025, usually way above the polar circle.
Top clichés
Northern lights are notoriously hard to photograph, and let's start with my own favorite selection. If you want more, keep scrolling!
Sweden
The northern lights below have been the first one spotted, along the highway in the surroundings of Luleå. They were very weak, but it's a start!
In Pajala other auroras started to appear, slightly more bright than around Luleå. The temperatures were extremely cold!
Norway
In Karasjok, the northern lights are very shiny and super active! It's a firework!
Thanks C for letting me include some of their pictures in this gallery!
